any Director shall be absent at the time of declar-
ing such dividend, or being present shall vote
against the declaring of the same, he shall be ex-
empt from the liability of this clause.

Statement
of Affairs.

Sec. 6. And be it enacted, That a general state-
ment of the affairs of the Company shall be pre-
pared and presented to the stockholders at their
annual meetings and remain open for their inspec-
tion for thirty days.

hibited.

- Sec. 1. And be it enacted. That this Company
shall not be permitted to issue any token, note or
device or evidence of debt to be used as currency.

In force and
reservation.

Sec. 8, And be it enacted. That this Act shall
take effect from the date of its passage, and that
the General Assembly reserves the right to al-
ter, amend or annull this charter, provided, -no
injustice be done the corporation.

. AN ACT entitled, an Act to incorporate the
Oblate Sisters of Providence of the city of Bal-
timore.

Preamble.

WHEREAS, Mary Louisa Noel, Theresa Catlierino
Willigmann, Marie Elizabeth Lange,Rosa Bonege,
Scholastica Burgoin, Ellen Joseph West, Ann
Harkett, Victoria Messonnier, Agnes Donelson,
Mary Gelestine Reynolds, Dominca Thomas,
Agatha Waters, Aloysius Waters, Anastasia
Brown, Ignatius Jones, Gertrude Smallwood,
Martha Boyd, Mary Virginia, Mary Bernard At-
kins, by their petition to this General Assembly,
have set forth that they are the present members
of an association of unmarried colored women
formed in Baltimore city in the year eighteen
hundred and twenty-nine to educate and train to
virtue and industry, colored female children, of the
said city) and that they have purchased and now
