AN ACT to make valid the acts and proceedings
of the Commissioners of the town of Rockville,
Montgomery county. |
Preamble. |
WHEREAS, The records and proceedings of the
Commissioners of the town of Rockville, Mont-
gomery county, were carried off and destroyed
during the raid of the Confederate forces in this
State in July, 1864; therefore, |
Proceedings
declared valid. |
SECTION 1 Be it enacted by the General Assembly
of Maryland, That the acts and proceedings of the
Commissioners of the town of Rockville, Mont-
gomery county, shall be valid notwithstanding
the loss of the records prior to the date hereof, and
the rights and privileges of said corporation shall
be as fully preserved and continued notwithstand-
ing the corporate authorities of said town may be
unable to produce the same in evidence in any
legal proceedings. |

Sec. 2. Be it enacted. That this act shall take
effect from the date of its passage. |

AN ACT to amend an Act incorporating the
Washington University of Baltimore and to
establish an hospital, to be styled the Maryland
Free Hospital, in said city. |
Preamble. |
WHEREAS, In the populous city of Baltimore
accidents involving serious injury and damage to
life and limb do frequently occur; and whereas,
visitors to the city as well as the citizens thereof
are liable to and frequently suffer from the same,
or are attacked by serious illness whilst deprived |
