Gentlemen of the Senate:
We have received your message of the 4th instant, inform-
ing us that you have appointed the Rev. Mr. Cassady. as
Chaplain, and proposing an interchange of services with the
gentlemen who may be appointed by us. We respectfully
inform you that we have appointed as Chaplain to this
House, the Rev. Mr. Leach, Hammond, McNamar, Hender-
son, and Bnrk, and accept your proposition for an inter-
change of services.

Also resolution directing the Comptroller to adjust and set-
tle the claims of Maryland Soldiers ;
Which was read the first time and referred to the Commit-
tee on Finance.
And delivered the following bills :
A bill entitled, an Act to restore to full citizenship and the
right to vote and hold office, all persons who may be deprived
thereof by the provisions contained in the 4th section oi the
first Article of the Constitution of this State;
Which was read the first time and referred to the Committee
on Judicial Proceedings.
A bill entitled, an Act to repeal and re-enact an Act passed
January Session, 1866, chapter 1st, entitled, an Act autho-
rizing the Mayor and City Council of Baltimore to build a
new City Hall;
Which was read the first time and referred to the Balti-
more city Senators,
A bill entitled, an Act to authorize the Governor to ap-
point an additional Justice of the Peace for the 2d and 3rd
Election Districts respectively, in Talbot county;
Which was read the first time and referred to the Commit-
tee on Judicial Proceedings.
A bill entitled., an Act to repeal the fourth, seventh, fif-
teenth, sixteenth and twentieth sections of the fourth Article of
the Public Local Laws of the city of Baltimore, relative to the
qualification of electors in said city, and regulating the time
for holding elections for Mayor and Members of the City
Council, and the terms of and the times for enter ing upon the
duties of said office, and to re-enact the same with amend-
ments;
