State or death of the Commissioner aforesaid, the
Judge of the Circuit Court of Baltimore city shall
appoint a Commissioner in his stead, on the appli-
cation of any of the parties interested, by peti-
tion.

Certificates
to be received
in payment of
taxes.

Sec. 8. And be it enacted. That the certificates
mentioned and authorized by this Act shall be re-
ceivable and payable at their full par value with
interest, for all taxes due or other dues to the
Mayor and City Council of Baltimore.

In force.

Sec. 9. And be it enacted, That this Act shall
take effect from the date of its passage.

AN ACT, entitled an Act to incorporate the Uni-
ted States Real Estate Mining and Manufactur-
ing Company of Maryland.

Incorporated
—power and
privileges.

SECTION 1. Be it enacted by the General Assembly
of Maryland, That Darius C. Howell, William S.
Raine, William 11. Purnell, Henry Stockbridge,
Matthew S. Gosnell, Milton Whitney, A. P. Ger-
man, William Cayton, Edward J. Chaisty, Jr.,
and John B. Armstrong, their associates and all
and every person or persons hereafter becom-
ing members of the United States Real Estate
Mining and Manufacturing Company of Mary-
land, in the manner hereinafter mentioned, their
successors and assigns, shall he, and they are
hereby created and made a corporation and
body politic by the name and style of the
United States Real Estate Mining and Manu-
facturing Company of Maryland, and by that
name shall and may have perpetual succession,
and be capable in law of purchasing, hold-
ing, developing, improving and disposing of pro-
perty, real, personal or mixed, in the manner and
