of Baltimore and a good and sufficient cause of ac-
tion against the same therefor.

Sec. 4. And be it enacted, That the Commissioner
aforesaid; before proceeding to discharge the duties
hereby imposed upon him, shall take an oath to
discharge the same fairly and impartially, which
oath, duly certified by any Justice of the Peace to
have been taken before him, and subscribed by the
said Commissioner, shall be filed by the said Com-
missioner in the office of the Register of the city
of Baltimore, at any time before the granting of
any of the certificates aforementioned, to the claim-
ants or any of them; and the said Register shall
thereupon furnish to the said Commissioner a copy
of the said oath, and the certificate attached there-
to with a memorandum of the time of filing the
same, under his hand.

Sec. 5, And be it enacted, That the said Com-
missioner, after examination as aforesaid of the
said claims and final adjudication upon all thereof,
shall furnish to the Register of Baltimore city, a
full and complete list of all of the said claims
which ho shall have allowed, certified under his
hand and seal, which certificate and list and all
the other certificates herein provided for shall be
kept on file in the said Register's office.

Sec. G. And be it enacted, That the said Com-
missioner shall be entitled to a per diem of ten
dollars for each and every clay, not to exceed thirty
days in all, that he shall be engaged in the dis-
charge of his duties under this Act, together with
his proper office and other expenses in and about
the same; and shall certify the number of said
days, together with the amount and items of said
expenses, under his hand and seal, and verified by
his oath, to the said Register, which certificate
shall constitute and create a liability of the Mayor
and City Council of Baltimore to the said Com-
missioner for the amount which shall appear to be
due thereby, which amount shall be paid to the
said Commissioner, his lawful attorney, represent-
atives or assigns by the said Register on the pre-
sentation of said certificate,
