Amend 1st section, in line 3, after the word "laws," insert
''of the city of Baltimore, sub-title, Lumber;"

After the word "follows," in line 5, add the word "sec-
tion;"

The bill was then read the second time.

Mr. Vickers from the Committee on Judicial Procoedings,
to which was referred the bill entitled, an Act to pay A. Lin-
gan Jarrctt, the balance of his salary as late Comptroller of
the Treasury,

Asked to be discharged from the further consideration there-
of, and that said bill be referred to the Committee on Finance.

Mr. Vickers from the Committee on Judicial Proceedings,
to which was referred the bill entitled, an Act to appropriate
a sum of money to purchase copies of a digest of the de-
cisions containing the statutes of Maryland, of which the Code
of Public General Laws is composed, with references to the
Acts of Assembly by Lewis Mayer, and to regulate the distri-
bution of the same,

Asked to be discharged from the further consideration there-
of, and that said bill be referred to the Committee on Finance.

Mr. Vickers from committee on Judicial Proceedings, to
which was referred the bill entitled an Act to create a Board
of Commissioners to keep open the harbor of Baltimore and
the access thereto from obstruction by ice, and for harbor and
river relief;

Asked to be discharged from the further consideration
thereof and that said biy be referred to the Committee on
Finance.

Mr. Waters from the Committee on Corporations to which
was referred the bill entitled an Act to incorporrte the Wor-
cester and Somerset Railroad Company ;

Reported it with the following amendments;
AMENDMENTS PROPOSED.

Amend section 12 by sir iking out all after the word Com-
pany in line 27, to the word and in line 31.

Amend section 11 line 7 by striking out the word "evacu-
ate," and insert in lieu thereof the word "'appropriate."
Add the following as Section 19.

Section 19, And be it enacted, That the said Company
shall start and run their cars for the transportation of passen-
gers, and property at regular times, to be fixed by public
notice; and shall furnish sufficient accomodation for the trans-
portation of all such passengers and property, as shall, with-
in a reasonable time previous thereto, be offered for transpor-
tation at the place of starting; and at the usual stopping places
established for receiving and discharging way passengers and
