thorize the Board of Trustees of the McDonogh Educa-
tional Fund and Institute, to locate said Institute in Balti-
more county, and to connect a Farm School therewith ;
Reported said bill ought not to pass.

The bill was then rejected and returned to the House of
Delegates.

Mr. Compton, from the Committee on Education, to which
was referred the bill entitled, an Act to repeal section 2 of
chapter 3, title, "School Houses," of the Act of 1865, chap-
ter 160, entitled, an Act to add a new article to the Code of
Public General Laws, to be entitled Public Instruction, pro-
viding a uniform system of free public schools for the State
of Maryland, and to repeal all existing laws inconsistent
therewith, and to re-enact the same with amendments, and to
add new sections thereunto as sub-sections;

Reported said bill ought not to pass.

The bill was then rejected and returned to the House
of Delegates.

Mr. Compton, from the Committee on Education, to which
was referred the bill entitled, an Act to authorize the Board
of School Commissioners of Worcester county, to appropriate
a sum of money out of the Free School Fund of said county,
towards building school houses and for other purposes ;

Reported it without amendment,

The bill was then read the second time.

Mr. Compton, from the Committee on Education, to which
was referred the bill entitled, an Act to authorize the Trus-
tees of the New Town Academy in Worcester county, to sell
their building and grounds, and to invest proceeds of such
sale in a building and grounds for a high school in the town
of New Town;

Reported it without amendment.
The bill was then read a second time.

Mr. Compton from the Committee on Education reported a
bill entitled, an Act to alter and amend the Act incorporating
the Maryland Institute for the promotion of the Mchanic's
Arts, passed December Session, 1849, so as to allow said In-
stitute to hold annual, biannual or triannual exhibitions or
fairs for articles of American manufacture;

Which was read the first time.

Mr. Vickers from the Committee on Judicial Proceedings,
to which was referred the bill entitled, an Act to give the
assent of the Legislature to a deed conveying certain real es-
tate in Washington county, to certain parties for the use of
the German Reform Church, of the town of Clearspring in
said county;
