AN ACT entitled, an Act to change the name of
Ellenor Kate Purnell to Emma Catharine Pur-
nell. |

SECTION 1. Be it enacted by the General Assem-
bly of Maryland, That the name of Ellenor Kate
Purnell, minor daughter of John R. Purnell of
Worcester county, be and the same is hereby
changed to Emma Catharine Purnell. |

Sec. 2. And be it enacted, That this Act shall
take effect from and after its passage. |

AN ACT entitled, an Act to refund taxes errone-
ously paid by William Gilmor and Robert Gil-
mor, Junior, of Baltimore city. |
Preamble. |
WHEREAS, It has been made to appear to the
General Assembly of Maryland that certain pro-
perty belonging to William Gilmor and Robert
Gilmor, Junior of Baltimore city, has been assess-
ed beyond its real value to the extent of forty-eight
thousand two hundred dollars, and whereas the
said William Gilmor and Robert Gilmor, Junior,
have paid taxes on said excess from the year eigh-
teen hundred and fifty-eight, to the present time,
which amount of taxes so paid in the opinion of
the General Assembly should be refunded to them;
and whereas, the Governor hath recommended that
the said taxes and interest thereon should be re-
funded to the said parties; therefore |

SECTION 1. Be it enacted by the General Assem-
bly of Maryland, That the Register of Baltimore
city, be, and he is hereby authorized to pay to
William Gilmor and Robert Gilmor, Junior, out |
