the capital stock of the Maryland and Delaware Railroad
Company.

The Clerk of the House of Delegates delivered the following
bills :

A bill entitled, an Act to revive and amend the Act of in-
corporation of the town of New Windsor, in Carroll county,
passed at December session, 1843, chapter 47, and to repeal
the 14th section thereof, and re-enact the same with the fol-
lowing new and additional sections :

Which was read the first time and referred to the Commit-
tee on Corporations.

A bill entitled, au Act to incorporate Howard Lodge, No.
119, of Ancient, Free and Accepted Masons, in Caroline
county ;

Was read the first time and referred to the Committee on
Corporations.

The Bill entitled, an Act authorizing the County Commis-
sioners of Prince George's county to dispose of the present
Alms House and to purchase or build another;

Which was read the first time, and referred to the Com-
mittee on Judicial Proceedings.

A bill entitled, an Act to repeal section 17, of article 53, of
the Code of Public General Laws entitled, "Landlord and
Tenant," and to enact the same with amendments;

Which was read the first time, and referred to the Com-
mittee on Judicial Proceedings.

A bill entitled, an Act to create the office of Lumber In-
spector and Wood Corder for the Pocomoke river;

Which was read the first time and referred to the Commit-
tee on Judicial Proceedings.

A bill entitled, an Act to change the name of Mary Eliza-
beth Lewis, of Baltimore city, to Mary Elizabeth Young;

Which was read the first time, and referred to the Com-
mittee on Judicial Proceedings.

A bill entitled, an Act to amend and re-enact sections 7
and 8, of article 29, of the Code of Public General Laws re-
lating to the appointment and compensation of Assistant
Counsel;

Which was read the first time and referred to the Commit-
tee on Judicial Proceedings.

A bill entitled, an Act to incorporate the Baltimore Soap
Stone Company;

Which was read the first time, and referred to the Com-
mittee on Corporations.
A bill entitled, an Act for the relief of Nathaniel Duke,
