amend section 125, of Public School Laws entitled, "public
instruction" passed January 1865, to provide for additional
taxation for school purposes, in school districts or sab-dis-
tricts, where a majority of such districts shall require it;

Mr. Mules, from the Committee on Corporations reported
favorably a bill entitled, an Act to revive and amend an Act
entitled, an Act to incorporate the Queen Anne's and Kent
county Rail Road Company, passed on the 8th day of March,
1856;

Which was read the first time.

Mr. Mules, from the Committee on Corporations, reported
favorably a bill entitled an Act to incorporate the town of
Poolesville, in Montgomery county;

Which was read the first time.

Mr. Mules, from the Committee on Corporations, to which
was referred the bill entitled, an Act to repeal the Act passed
at January session 1854, chapter 258 entitled, an Act to in-
corporate a Bank of the name and style of the Farmers and
Merchants Bank of Greensborough;

Reported it without amendment,

The bill was then read the second time.

Mr. Mules, from the Committee on Corporations, to which
was referred the bill entitled, an Act to incorporate Redemp-
tion Lodge, No. 1 Maryland, of the Independent order of Good
Templars of Keediesville, Washington County;

Reported it without amendment,

The bill was then read the second time.

Mr. Mules, from the Committee on Corporations, to which
was referred the bill entitled, an Act to amend an Act
entitled, an Act to incorporate the Franklin Turnpike Road
Company, passed March 10, 1828, chapter 186, by providing
for an increase of tolls on said road;

Reported it without amendment,

The bill was then read a second time.
On motion by Mr. Vickers,

Leave was granted to Messrs. Vickers, Earle and Holton
to introduce a bill to incorporate the Still Pond and Sassafras
Wharf Company, at Crews' Landing, in Kent county, on
Sassafras river;

On motion by Mr. Compton,

Leave was granted to the Committee on Corporations to
introduce a bill to incorporate the Mutual Insurance Compa-
ny of Charles county;

Mr. Billingslea, from the Select Committee reported a bill
