Leave was granted to the Committee on Corporations to re-
port a bill to incorporate the town of Poolesville in Mont-
gomery county.

The Senate adjourned until 8 o'clock, P. M.

FRIDAY, March 1st, 8 o'clock, P. M.

The President announced the order of the day, being the
bill entitled, an Act to incorporate the Maryland Central
Rail Road Company;

Mr. Earle moved a reconsideration of the vote by which
said bill was ordered to be engrossed for a third reading;

On the question being put, it was determined in the affirma-
tive by yeas and nays as follow :

Mr. Trail submitted the following amendment:

Section 1, line 7, after the word "hereby," insert "ap-
pointed commissioners under the direction of whom subscrip-
1 ions may be received to the capital stock of the Maryland
Central Rail Road Company, and they or a majority of them
may cause books to be opened at such times and places as they
may direct for the purpose of receiving subscriptions to the
said capital stock of said company after having given notice
of the time and places of opening the same as they may deem
proper, until at least five thousand shares shall have been
subscribed, provided, the time for keeping the books open,
shall not exceed one year from the passage of this Act, and
