On motion by Mr. Davis, of Washington,
The rules were suspended, and

The bill entitled, an Act granting the assent of the Legis-
lature of Maryland, to a bequest made by, in the last will
and testament of Victor Tomson, late of Washington county
deceased, to the Trustees of Presbyterian Church of Hagers-
town,

Was read the second time and ordered to be engrossed for
a third reading.

On motion by Mr. Davis, of Washington,

Was read the third time by special order and passed by yeas
and nays as follow:

AFFIRMATIVE.

Brodwater,
Compton,
Davis, of Caroline,
Davis, of Washington,
Earle,
Frazier,

Jump,
Kimmel,
Spates,

NEGATIVE—None.
Said bill was then sent to the House of Delegates.

The bill entitled, an Act to amend the 28th Article of the
Code of Public General Laws title, draining land, by adding
thereto additional sections,

Was read the second time and ordered to be engrossed for
a third reading.

On motion by Mr. Waters,

The Senate was called.

The Sergeant-at-Arms was sent to inform the absent Sena-
tors that their attendance was required in the Senate Cham-
ber.

On motion by Mr. Earle,

Further proceedings under the call were dispensed with.

Mr. Earle asked the following leave:

Leave to withdraw from the files of the Senate, a bill en-
titled, an Act to compensate such Members and Officers of
the General Assembly of Maryland, held in the year of 1861,
as have presented their claims.

Which was granted.
