cuit, Common Pleas and Criminal courts of Baltimore city,
report to this House on or before the first day of February,
next, the number of days of each term of said courts respec-
tively, between the first day of January and the thirty-first
day of December 1866, inclusive, the respective Judges of said
courts have held sessions thereof or transacted business there-
in; and that the Chief Clerk of this House, transmit forth-
with by mail, a certified copy of this order to each of said
clerks respectively.
Report, that the Honorable John E. Smith, Circuit Judge
has held four regular terms of the Circuit court for Howard
county, at the Court House in Ellicott's Mills, between the
first day of January and the thirty-first day of December
1866, two law terms and two equity terms;
And that the first law term commenced on the nineteenth
day of March 1866, and continued in session ten days.
The first equity term was held by the Hon. John E. Smith
on the fifth day of July, and was in session one day.
The second law term commenced on the third day of Sep-
tember 1866, and continued in session twenty-seven days, the
first sixteen days of this term, was held by the Hon., John E.
Smith, Circuit Judge, and the remaining eleven days were
held by the Hon. Peter W. Crane, Special Judge.
The second equity term was held by-the Hon. John E.
Smith on the fourth day of December, 1866, and was in ses-
sion one day.
