Mr. Vickers presented the petition of J. N. Lantz and 124
other citizens of Washington county, asking the Senate not
to confirm the nomination of John Cook, as a justice of the
peace for said county;
Which was read and referred to the Committee on Execu-
tive Nominations.
On motion by Mr. Billingslea, it was
Ordered, That the Select Committee to which the bill pro-
hibiting the granting of license for the sale of spiritous or
fermented liquors, in and around Fallston, Harford county,
for the space of three miles; be permitted to withdraw said
bill from the Committee on Finance, to which it was referred,
and report it with amendment.
On motion by Mr. Water,
Leave was granted to Messrs. Waters, Vickers and Trail,
to report a bill entitled, an Act to add another section to the
26th article of the Code of Public General Laws, relating to
corporations.
Mr. Vickers presented the petition of 86 citizens of Wash-
ington county, praying for the passage of the Convention
bill;
Which was read and referred to the Committee on Judicial
Proceedings.
Mr. Vickers, from the Committee on Judicial Proceedings,
reported favorably a bill entitled, an Act to extend the pro-
visions of the Act of January session, 1865, chapter 126, for
the relief of certain parties indebted to the State, by extend-
ing the time for payment therein mentioned;
Which was read the first time.
Mr. Vickers, from the Committee on Judicial Proceedings,
reported favorably a bill entitled, an Act to legalize the acts
of George W. Ritter, a Justice of the Peace, of Baltimore
county, done by him in the City of Baltimore, as such Jus-
tice;
Which was read the first time.
Mr. Vickers, from the Committee on Judicial Proceedings,
reported a bill to repeal an Act entitled, an Act to authorize
and empower the Commissioners appointed by the Circuit
Court of Queen Anne's county, to divide the real estate of
John Hendrix, late of said county, deceased, to convey to
the purchaser the legal title to said lands, and to re-enact the
same with amendments;
Which was read the first time;
