Which was read, assented to and sent to the House of Dele-
gates.

On motion of Mr. Tome,
The Senate adjourned until to-morrow, at 12 o'clock.

FRIDAY, January 11th, 1867.

Mr. Young presented the petition of the County Commission-
ers and other citizens of Montgomery county, praying the
passage of a law authorizing the State Treasurer to pay the
costs in the various cases in the courts of this State, and the
Supreme Court of the United States, to test the validity of
the Registry Law ;

Which was read and referred to the Committee on Judicial
Proceedings.

On motion of Mr. Maddox, it was

Ordered, That the Secretary of the Senate furnish the Sen-
ate Committee Raom with a desk, for the purpose of safely
keeping the papers referred to the different committees.

On motion of Mr. Ohr, it was

Ordered, That the Secretary be directed to procure a Ther-
mometer, and place the same in the Senate chamber.

On motion of Mr. Tome,

Leave was granted to the Committee on Judiciary Proceed-
ings to report a bill granting the assent of the Legislature to
a bequest made by a codicil to the last will and testament of
Charlotte E. Graham, of Cecil county, deceased, to the Trus-
tees of M. E. Church, of Cecilton, called Zion, in Cecil coun-

ty.

On motion of Mr. Henkle,

Leave was granted to Committee on Judicial Proceedings to
report an Act to repeal chapter 129 of the Acts of 1864, en-
titled, an Act to add additional sections to the 44th Article
of the Code of Public General Laws, title Maryland Hospital,
prescribing an additional oath to be taken by the President,
Vice President and Visitors of the said Hospital.

Mr. Bowie, from the Committee on Federal Relations, to
