950 JOURNAL OF PROCEEDINGS [Mar. 16,

On motion of Mr. McCulley,

Ordered, that all members who are not present at the night
sessions, on the call of the roll in the passage of local bills,
their names shall be passed informally, and their bills be not
called up, unless absent from sickness of self or family;
Which was adopted.

On motion of Mr. Neale,

Ordered, that Mr. Welch have leave of absence till Tues-
day next.

On motion of Mr. Clark.

Ordered, that after this day the Chairman of Committee
on claims be and is hereby instructed to issue no more certi-
ficates to members or officers until the last day of the session.

Mr. McCulloh offered the following:

Ordered, that the Committee on Claims be directed to pay
to Wm. A. Brydon and William Devecmon, all proper legal
expenses attending the contest for the right to their seats.

Mr. Bishop moved to lay the order on the table;
Which was decided in the affirmative, by yeas and nays, as
