Whereupon, it appearing that Lefevre Jarrett, James E.
Carr and Wm. H. B. Fusselbaugh had a majority of all the

votes cast,

The Speaker declared Lefevre Jarrett, James L. Carr and
Wm. H. B. Fusselbaugh duly elected Police Commissioners
for the city of Baltimore.

Mr. Stevens offers the following :

In Joint Meeting of the Senate and House of Delegates of
the State of Maryland, held in the House of Delegates
this fifteenth day of March, in the year of our Lord,
1867;

Ordered, That the President of the Senate and Speaker
of the House-of Delegates send, under their hands and the
seal of the Senate and House of Delegates, to Lefevre Jarrett,
James E. Carr and Wm. H. B. Fusselbaugh a certificate of
their appointment as the Board of Police Commissioners for
the city of Baltimore, to hold their said offices for four years
from this fifteenth day of March, 1867, in pursuance of the
provisions of the Act of the General Assembly of Maryland,
passed at January session, 1867 ;

Which was read and concurred in.

The Secretary of the Senate delivered a bill entitled, an
Act to procure suitable frames to contain the address of Gen.
George Washington, delivered on the occasion of the resigna-
ation of his commission as Commander-in-Chief of the Aater.
ican forces, and the reply thereto of the Congress of the
United States, then in session at the city of Annapolis, in
December, 1783 ;

Which was read a first, and,
On motion of Mr. Calvert,
(Three-fourths of all the members concurring)

A second and third time, and passed by yeas and nays as
follow: .
