270 JOURNAL OF PROCEEDINGS [Feb. 19,

56 of the Independent Order of Odd Fellows at Salisbury,
Somerset county, Maryland.

Which was read the first time and referred to the Commit-
tee on Corporations.

A bill entitled, an Act to extend the time allowed the citi-
zens of East New Market, in Dorchester county, under the
Act of 1860, chapter 311, to organize their incorporation by
the election of officers;

Which was read the first time and referred to the Commit-
tee on Judicial Proceedings.

A bill entitled, an Act to change the name of William
Smith, of Baltimore county, to William France;

Which was read the first time and referred to the Com-
mittee on Judicial Proceedings.

A bill entitled, an Act to alter and change the name of
William Brown, colored, of Frederick city, to the name of
John William Brown;

Which was read the first time and referred to the Com-
mittee on Judicial Proceedings.

A bill entitled, an Act to authorize the Commissioners of
the Land Office to make such correction in the courses or
outlines of the tracts of land in Allegany county, called Re-
public, both in the original certificate of survey and in the
patent thereof, as shall make the same correspond with the
original plot on file in said office ;

Which was read the first time and referred to the Commit-
tee on Judicial Proceedings.

A bill entitled, an Act to incrporate the Avalon Nail and
Iron Company;

Which was read the first time and referred to the Commit-
tee on Corporations.

The President announced the order of the day, being the
Bill entitled, an Act to incorporate the Cecil and Harford
county Boom Cempany;

Mr. Tome submitted the following amendment:
AMENDMENT PROPOSED.

Section 1, line 4, strike out the word "and" and insert
after the word "Moore," Jesse R. Hinds, A. L. Jarrett,
Robert Fowler and Richard Grason.

Mr. Stephenson submitted the following amendment,

Amend section 1, by inserting after the word "Moore," in
line 4, the words A. P. McCon;
