Also, unfavorably the bill entitled, an Act to authorize the
payment of back funds to Abington Academy, of Harford
county ;

Which were severally read a first time.

Mr. Gorsuch, from the Committee on Ways and Means,
reported favorably a bill ontitled, an Act to refund to Chas.
H. Mitchum a sum of money erroneously paid ;

Mr. Lankford, from the Committee, on Ways and Means,
reported favorably a bill entitled, an Act to appropriate a
sum of money for the benefit of the Union Orphan Asylum,
of Baltimore city ;

Which were severally read a first time.

Mr. Carmichael, Chairman of the Committee on the Judi-
ciary, reported favorably, without amendment, the Senate
bill entitled, an Act to extend the provisions of the Act of
January session, 1865, chapter 126, for the relief of certain
parties indebted to the State, for extending the time for pay-
ment therein mentioned ;

Which was read a second time.

Also, favorably a bill entitled, an Act to extend the juris-
diction of Justices of the Peace for the city of Baltimore in
criminal cases entitled, "bail."

Also, a bill entitled, an Act to repeal the Act of 1864,
chapter 267, providing for a State subscription to Wingate's
Maryland Register and to re-enact the same with amend-
ments.

Also, a bill entitled, an Act to extend the time of the late
collectors of this State to complete their collections of State
and county taxes; which were severally read a first time.

Also, a bill entitled, an Act to relieve the owners of certain
fishing shores on the Potomac river by repealing section 14th
of article 41 of the Public General Laws, relating to Fishe-
ries on the Potomac river, and enacting in lieu thereof the
provisions of the laws in relation thereto as they stood under
the Act of 1854, chapter 172, section 3, and prior to the Act
of 1860, chapter 104, section 2.

Also, a bill entitled, an Act to repeal section 146 of ar-
ticle 16 of the Public General Laws, entitled, "Chancery,"
relating to the duties and powers of Commissioners to take
testimony; and to re-enact the same with amendments.

Also, a bill entitled, an Act to establish another court for
the city of Baltimore, as provided by the forty-first section of
the fourth article of the Constitution.

Which were severally read a first time.

Mr. Nicolai, Chairman of the Committee on Corporations,
reported favorably , without amendment, the Senate bill enti-
tled, an Act to incorporate the Cecil and Harford Counties
Boom Bill,
