Mr. Neilson, Chairman of the Committee on Militia; re-
ported favorably a bill entitled, an Act to exempt the bond
of James E. Nutwell, of Anne Arundel county, from respon-
sibility on account of arms furnished to him as captain of
Home Guards 2nd Regiment Maryland Militia, by the State,
and subsequently taken from him by the agents of the Gen-
eral Government;
Which was read a first time.
Mr. Bixler, from Committee on Inspections, reported favor-
ably a bill entitled, an Act to repeal chapter 116 of the Acts
of Assembly of January session, 1862, and chapter 32 of the
Acts of Assembly of January session, 1864, relating to the
inspection and cording of fire wood, and to enact a substitute
therefor ;

The bill entitled, an Act supplementary to an Act entitled,
an Act to provide for the general valuation and assessment of
property in this State, passed at the extra session of the Gen-
eral Assembly in the year, 1866, chapter 157;
Was considered and made the Order of the Day for Friday,
March 8, at one o'clock.
Mr. Devecmon, from a Select Committee, reported favorably
a bill entitled, an Act to repeal sections 6 of the Act of 1864,
chapter 121 and to re-enact the same with amendments;
Which was read a first time.
Mr. Magruder, from Select Committee on Tobacco Ware-
houses, reported back the bill entitled, an Act to repeal tub-
section 5 of chapter 194 of the Law of Maryland, passed
January session, 1865, entitled, an Act to repeal and re-enact
sections 5 and 27 of an Act, passed January session, 1864,
chapter 346, entitled, an Act to amend Article 4 of the Code
of Public Local Laws, relating to the 4«asing of the State
Tobacco Warehouses and the Inspection of Tobacco and to re-
enact the same, also to repeal sections 9, 11, 12, 16, 17, 18,
22, 25, 26, 27 and 28, of chapter 346 of Laws of Maryland,
passed January session, 1864, and to re-enact the same with
amendments, and to annex additional sections to come in
after section 50 of said Act with proposed amendments
