On motion of Mr. Neilson,

Leave was granted to the Committee on Corporations to
introduce a bill entitled an Act to incorporate the Times
Publishing Company of the city of Baltimore.

On motion of Mr. Carmichael,

Leave was .granted to the Committee on the Judiciary to
report a bill fo repeal the Act of 1864, chapter 267, providing
for a State subscription to Wingate's Maryland Register,
and to re-enact the same, with amendments.

Mr. Hamrnond submitted the following
RESOLUTIONS :

WHEREAS, An Exhibition of all the mineral, botanical,
and agricultural products, and all the works of Art'and
Science of the world, is goon to take place in the city of Paris,
the capital of France, and the State of Maryland being richly
endowed with these products; therefore,

Resolved by the General Assembly of Maryland That the
Governor of the State of Maryland be and he is hereby "autho-
rized, to select and appoint one or more persons as a Commis-
sioner or Commissioners, whe may collect and receive all spe-
cimens, samples, models, and drawings of all minerals, coals,
ores of iron, copper and zink, and other metals; also, all vari-
eties of fire clays, .kaolins, for fire brick and porcelain, and
also all samples of wood for ship timber and naval architec-
ture, and stores, and other manufactures, and also all works
of Art and Science which may be exhibited according to the
rules and regulations of the aforesaid Exhibition.

Provided, That the said service shall be executed without
charge to the State of Maryland of any fee or salary, and
that such person or persons shall be acquainted with the
French language, enabling him or them to give the fullest
explanation and description of same to the Judges of said
Exhibition;

Which were read a first, and, by special order, a second
time, and passed by yeas and, nays as follow:
