Also, presented the memorial of forty citizens of Harford
county against the Boom law,

Which was referred to the Committee on Corporations.

Also, the memorial of twenty citizens of Harford county
against the Boom law,

Which was referred to the Committee on Corporations.

Also, presented the petition of John Dougherty, Dr. Sam-
uel J. Ramsey and one hundred other citizens of Harford
county against the building of booms in the Susquehanna
River,

Which were read and severally referred to the Committee
on Corporations.

Mr. Boswell presented the petition of David R. Whiteley, of
Baltimore, a soldier in the war of 1812-'14, praying that
a pension may be granted him by the State,

Which was read and referred to the Committee on Pen-
sions.

On motion of Mr. Williams,

Ordered that the Committee on the Judiciary be requested
to enquire into the expediency of the appointment by this
Legislature of commissioners to revise and modify the present
Criminal law of the State.

Mr. Ford offered the following :

Ordered, That the evening sessions hereafter held shall be
for the purpose of passing local bills or such general bills
as will not excite discussion, and that every member
of the House shall when his name is called in the
regular call of the roll have the right to call up a bill, and
that the rules shall be considered as suspended for the pur-
pose of giving such bill all the readings necessary to put it on
its final passage.

Mr. King moved to lay the order on the table,

Which was decided in the negative.

Mr. Calvert proposed the following amendment:

Amend by striking out every member and insert eaah
county and legislative district of Baltimore city,
Which was adopted.

The question then recurring on the adoption of the order as
amended.

On motion of Mr. Ford,

It waa laid upon, the table.

On motion of Mr. King,

Leave was granted the Howard and Anne Arundel delega-
tion to report a bill to authorize Thomas McRea, of Howard
