Mr. Nicolai, Chairman of the Committee on Corporations,
reported favorably, without amendment, the Senate bill en-
titled an Act to repeal section 9 of the Act of January session,
1866, chapter 119, incorporating the Union Railroad Com-
pany of Baltimore, and re-enacting the same, with amend-
mendments, and also to add additional sections thereto,

Which was read a second time.

The bill entitled, an Act to incorporate the Chesapeake
and Lake Erie Railroad Company,

Being upon its second reading,

Mr. Nicolai proposed the following amendment:

7th line, 2d section, after the word "subscribers," insert the
''words "and paid in."

Which was adopted.

Mr. Burche moved that the further consideration of the
bill be postponed until Tuesday, 5th of March,

Which was not sustained.

The House then resumed the second reading of the bill,
when Mr. Burche renewed his motion to postponed until
Tuesday next;

Which was not sustained.

Mr. Burche proposed the following amendment:

Section 11, strike out all from word "Pennsylvania," in
8th line to "and" in 14th line;

Which was adopted.

Mr. Davis of Charles, proposed the following amendment:

Amend 12 section, 7th line, by striking out the words "one
hundred feet," and insert "sixty-»ix feet;

Which was rejected.

Mr. Hutton prqpesed the following amendment:

In the 12th section, strikeout all after the word "railroad"
in the third line, to the words "and they may enter upon"
in the 7th line;

Which was adopted.

Mr. Knott proposed the following amendment:

After the word "road," in 11th line, Igth sec., insert "but
not to condemn timber beyond the limits of the road;
Which was adopted.

Mr. Hutton proposed the following amendment:
