James L. Wimsatt, soldiers of the war of 1812, each, in
quarterly payments, the sum of eighty dollars per year dur-
ing their lives, from the passage of this resolution ;
Which was read a first time.
Mr. Carmichael, Chairman of Committee on the Judiciary,
reported back the Senate bill entitled, an Act to repeal sec-
tion 9 of the Act of January session, 1866, chapter 119, in-
corporating the Union Railroad Company of Baltimore, and
re-enacting the same with amendments, and also to add ad-
ditional sections thereto ;
And asked to be discharged from the further consideration
of the same and that it be referred to the Committee on Cor-
porations ;
The Committee were discharged and the bill so referred.
Mr. Brydon, from a Select Committee, reported favorably
a bill entitled, an Act to incorporate the North Branch Com-
pany ;
Mr. Baker, from a Select Committee, reported favorably a
bill entitled, an Act to incorporate the Maryland Institute
for the Education of the Deaf and Dumb ;
Which were read a first time and referred to the Committee
on Ways and Means.
Mr. Ford, from a Select Committee, reported favorably a
bill entitled, an Act to change the name of Doctor Andrew
Dunlap Palmer to Andrew Johnson Palmer of Baltimore
city;
Mr. Hutchins, from a Select Committee, reported favorably
a bill entitled, an Act to amend the 140th section of Article
3 of the Code of Public Local Laws, relating to the Orphan's
Court of Baltimore county ;
Mr. Magruder, from a Select Committee, reported favorably
without amendment the Senate bill entitled, an Act to author-
ize Frederick Sasscer, clerk of the Circuit Court for Prince
George's county to transcribe or have transcribed, the old
ehancery docket, in his office from September term, 1803, to
November term 1851, in the manner and form prescribed by
law;
Which were severally read a first time.
Mr. Morgan, from Select Committee, reported favorably
without amendment the Senate bill entitled, an Act to repeal
27th and 28th sections of article 18 of Public Local Laws,
entitled, St. Mary's county, sub-title "Charlotte Hall," and
to re-enact the same as amended;
Which was read a second time.
Mr. Welch, from Select Committee, reported favorably with-
out amendment, the Senate bill entitled, an Act for the relief of
Thomas Lusby, John Eaddaway and J. Franklin Smith,, and
