1867] OF THE HOUSE OF DELEGATES. $65

late Collector of taxes in Carroll county, monies erroneously
paid into the State Treasury ;

Also, a bill entitled, an Act to refund a sum of mo.ney
paid into the State Treasury erroneously by John W. Bond,
of the Fifth Election District of Baltimore county ;

Also, a bill entitled, an Act to pay William Price a sum
of money for legal services rendered the State by direction of
the Governor, and to pay Daniel R. Magruder a sum of mo-
ney for his expenses, paid in obtaining the position of Cir-
cuit Judge of the 2nd Judicial District ;

Which were severally read a first time.

Mr. Nicolai, Chairman of Committee on Corporations, re-
ported favorably an Act to incorporate Star Division No. 24
of the Order of the Sons of Temperance of the town of Han-
cock in Washington county ;

Also, a bill entitled, an Act to incorporate the Beneficial
Saving'Fund Society of Baltimore ;

Also, a bill entitled, an Act for the incorporation of Moun-
tain Spring Lodge No. 12, of the Independent Order of Good
Templars ;

Also, a bill entitled, an Act to incorporate Aia College'
Maryland;

Which were severally read a first time.

Also, reported favorably, without amendment, the Senate
bill entitled, an Act to incorporate the President and Direc-
tors of the Carroll Fire Insurance Company of Baltimore ;

Which was read the second time.

Also, reported favorably, without amendments, the bill
entitled, an Act to incorporate the Chesapeake and Lake Erie
Railroad Company.;

Mr. Wilson, Chairman of Committee on Pensions, reported
favorably the following joint' resolution in favor of Benjamin
Kirby:

Resolved by the General Assembly of Maryland, That the
Treasurer of the State is hereby directed, on the warrant of
the Comptroller, to pay quarterly the sum of eighty dollars
per annum, from the passage of this resolution, to Benjamin
Kirby, an aged soldier of the war of 1812, during his life ;

Which was read a first time.

Also, the following joint resolution in favor of Frances
Wimsatt and Ellen .Wimsatt:

Resolved by the General Assembly of Maryland, That the

Treasurer of Maryland be and he is hereby directed, on the

warrant of the Comptroller, to pay over to Frances Wimsatt

and Ellen Wimsatt, widows respectively of Benedict and
