for the general valuation and assessment of property in this
State, Chapter 157, passed February 5th, 1866, and re-enact
the same with amendments;

Which was read the first time.

Mr. Vickers, from the Committee on Judicial Proceedings,
to which was referred the bill entitled, an Act to authorize
the President and Directors of the Chesapeake and Ohio Canal
Company, to grant a water right to Charles F. Wenner, at
or near Berlin, in Frederick county;

Reported said bill "ought not to pass,"

The report was adopted, and

The bill rejected, and returned to the House of Delegates.

Mr. Vickers, from the Committee on Judicial Proceedings,
to which was referred the bill entitled, an Act for the
preservation of glowing timber in Washington county;

Reported it without amendment,

The bill was then read the second time.

Mr. Vickers, from the Committee on Judicial Proceedings,
to which was referred the bill entitled, an Act to repeal sec-
tions 68 and 76 of article 26 of the Code of Public General
Laws of the State of Maryland, entitled Corporations, and
re-enact the same with amendments;

Reported it without amendment.

The bill was then read a second time.

Mr. Vickers, from the Committse on Judicial Proceedings,
to which was referred the bill entitled, an Act to add ad-
ditional sections to the 30th article of the Code of Public
General Laws, entitled, Crimes and Punishments, providing
for the punishment of certain offences, relating to public
offices;

Reported it without amendment,

The bill was then read the second time.

Mr. Vickers, from the Committee on Judicial Proceedings,
to which was referred the bill entitled, an Act to add addi-
tional sections to article 11 of the Code of Public Local Laws
of Frederick county, relating to the powers and duties of the
Mayor and Aldermen, and Council of Frederick city, to follow
section 147;

Reported it without amendment,

The bill was then read a second time.

Mr. Vickers, from the Committee on Judicial Proceedings,
to which was referred the bill entitled, an Act to repeal the
Act of 1866, chapter 93, relating to a patent for a tract of
land in Allegany county, called St. Bart's;
