Cecil county, against the erection of booms in the Susque-
hanna river;

Mr. Davis, of Charles, presented the memorial of seventeen
citizens of Cecil county, against the erection of booms in the
Susquehanna river;

Mr. Morgan presented the memorial of fifty citizens of Cecil
county, against the erection of booms in the Susquehanna
river;

Mr. Calvert presented the memorial of Samuel L. Berlin
and eighty-one other citizens of Cecil county, protesting
against the passage of the Boom bill, now pending before the
Legislature;

Mr. Whitaker presented the memorial of sixty-one citizens
of Cecil county, protesting against the erection of booms in
the Susquehanna river; ,

Which were read and severally referred to the Committee
on Corporations.

Mr. Burche presented the memorial of Samuel Riggs and
one hundred other citizens of Montgomery county, praying
that no amendment of the charter of the Union Plank or
Turnpike Road Company, raising the toll on said road, be
granted;

Also, the petition of citizens of Montgomery county, pray-
ing that no amendment of the charter of the Union Plank or
Turnpike Road Company be granted, allowing said company
to charge a higher rate of toll on said road;

Which were read and severally referred to the Committee
on Roads and Highways.

Mr. Hoffhine presented the petition of D. Oswold, former
collector for Washington county, asking that an Act be passed
authorizing the Treasurer to refund him a sum of money er-
roneously paid into the Treasury;

Which was read and refered to Committee on Claims.

Mr. Baker presented the petition David Thomas and forty-
five other citizens of Frederick county, asking for the erection
of an institution for the education of the deaf and dumb, to be
located near Frederick city, Maryland;

Which was read and referred to a Select Committee on that
subject.

Mr. Horsey presented the petition of Elijah Towers and
23 other citizens of Caroline county, against the passage of a
hog law for Potters Landing and vicinity;

Mr. Dawson presented the petition of A. J. Willis and
others, asking the passage of a law to prevent the running at
large of hogs in Potters Landing and vicinity;
