Which was read and referred to Messrs. Compton, Tome
and Bowie.

Mr. Trail presented the petition of J. W. Baughman and
45 ether citizens of Frederick county, praying the passage of
a law to protect fish in the Monocacy river;

Which was read and referred to Messrs. Trail, Davis of
Washington and Jump.

Mr. Bowie presented the memorial of John G. Hewes, Mc-
Henry & Co. and 50 merchants and citizens of Baltimore,
against any change in the Baltimore and Potomac Rail Road
Company;

Which was read and referred to the Committee on Internal
Improvements.

Mr. Stephenson presented the memorial of R. T. Archer
and 21 other citizens of Harford county, against any modifi-
cation of the Sunday law;

Which was read and referred to the Committee on Judicial
Proceedings.

Mr. Stephenson presented the memorial of Dr. George T.
Hays of Harford county, relative to the treatment and in-
struction of the deaf mutes of the State, in the institutions
to which they are sent.

Which was read and referred to the Committee on Educa-
tion.

Mr. Vickers presented the petition of R. Hanson and 41
other citizens of Kent county, that the standard fixed by law
for the weight of Grain may be reduced;

Which was read and referred to the Committee on Agricul-
ture.

On motion by Mr. Bowie, it was

Ordered, That when the Senate adjourns on Thursday next,
it stand adjourned until Tuesday, in commemoration of the
birth day of the "Father of his Country," and that on and
after Tuesday, the Senate will meet at 11, A.. M, until the
adjournment on Thursday.

On motion by Mr. Mackall,

Leave was granted to the Committee on Judicial Proceed-
ings to introduce a bill entitled, an Act to authorize Acts of
Assembly passed at the present session of the General As-
sembly, to be repealed and to re-enact the same, and to make
valid the repeal of such Acts.

On motion by Mr. Maddox,

Leave was granted to the Committee on Judicial Proceedings,
to introduce a bill to extend the provisions of the Act of Jan-
