SATURDAY, February 16, 1867.

Mr. Maddox presented the petition of the officers of the
Home of the Friendless;

Which was read and referred to the Committee on Finance.

Mr. Maddox presented the petition of John Parsons and
other citizens of St. Mary's county, against the existing re-
strictions for the observance of the Christian Sabbath;

Which was read and referred to the Committee on Judicial
Proceedings.

Mr. Tome presented the petition of H. Branch and 46
other citizens of Cecil county, remonstrating against any
change in the Sunday Law;

Which was read and referred to the Committee on Judicial
Proceedings.

Mr. Tome presented the petition of Russell Thomas and
59 other citizens of Cecil county, remonstrating against any
modification in the Sunday Law;

Which was read and referred to the Committee on Judicial
proceedings.

Mr. Compton presented the memorial of Francis W. Weems,
J. H. Reedsr, William H. Higgs and seventy-three other
citizens of Charles county, asking that no modification or
amendment may be made in the charter of the Baltimore and
Potomac Rail Road Company;

Which was read and referred to the Committee on Inter-
nal Improvements.

Mr. Compton presented the memorial of Charles H. Wills,
R. B. Posey, Thomas L. Speake and 34 others, citizens of
Charles county, asking that no modification or amendment
may be made in the charter of the Baltimore and Potomac
Rail Road Company;

Which was read and referred to the Committee on Inter-
nal Improvements.

Mr. Compton presented the memorial of John W. Jenkins,
Pearson Chapman, Edgar Brown and fifty-three others, citi-
zens of Charles county, representing 20,000 acres of land,
asking that no modification or amendment may be made in
the charter of the Baltimore and Potomac Rail Road;

Which was read and referred to the Committee on Internal
Improvements.

Mr. Compton presented the petition of A. W. Gardner,
James H. Mudd, Thomas J. Jameson and twenty others, citi-
zens of Charles county, asking the passage of a law allowing
married women to contract debts, sue and be sued;
