Ordered, That it be entered upon the Journal of this House,
that Daniel C. Bruce, of Allegany county, is detained from
his seat on account of sickness.

On motion of Mr. Ford,

Leave was granted the Baltimore County delegation to
bring in a bill to incorporate the Trustees of the Episcopal
Methodist Church in Reisterstown, Baltimore county.

On motion of Mr. Welch,

Leave was granted the Kent and Queen Anne's County
delegation to introduce a bill to incorporate the Chester Read-
ing Room and Library Association.

On motion of Mr. Buhrman,

Leave was granted the Committee on the Judiciary to re-
port a bill to repeal sections 31, 32, 33, 34, 35, 36, 37, 38,
39 and 40 of Article six of the Code of Public General Laws,
entitled, "Apprentices."

On motion of Mr. Magruder,

Leave was granted the Saint Mary's and Prince George's
county delegations to introduce a bill to amend section 56 of
Article 16 of Code of Public Local Laws of Prince George's
county, relating to the Crier of the Circuit Court of said
county.

On motion of Mr. Bishop,

Leave was granted the Committee on Corporations to report
a bill to incorporate Star Division No. 24, O. S. of Temper-
ance, of Haacock, Washington county, Maryland.

On motion of Mr. Welch,

Leave was granted the Committee on Corporations to intro-
duce a bill to amend the charter of the Kent County Railroad
Company, by authorizing it to connect the Kent County Rail-
road with the Philadelphia, Wilmington and Baltimore Rail-
road, at or near Elkton, in Cecil county.

Mr. Stevens submitted the following joint resolution :

Resolved, by the General Assembly of Maryland, That in
cases where the Comptroller of State shall issue his warrant
in payment of any claim filed in his office, and the party to
whom the said warrant shall be issued shall desire to receive
the bonds of this State, the Treasurer of the State is hereby
authorized and directed to issue to the said person the bonds
of the State to the amount of said warrant in payment thereof;

Which was read a first time.
