1867.] OF THE SENATE.

The thirty-second rule was then read and adopted.

Mr. Henkle submitted the following amendment to the
thirty-third rule :

After the word "any" in first line, insert "Senate ;"
The thirty-third rule as amended was then adopted.
The thirty-fourth rule was then read and adopted.
The thirty-fifth rule was then read and adopted.
The thirty-sixth rule was then read and adopted.

On motion by Mr. Stephenson,
The thirty-seventh rule was stricken out.
The thirty-eighth rule was then read and adopted,

Mr. Vickers submitted the following as a substitute for the
thirty-ninth rule :

"Bills and resolutions from the House shall be open to
amendment on their second or third reading ;"

DetermineJ in the affirmative.

The fortieth rule was then read and adopted.

Mr. Brodwater moved to amend rule forty-first by adding
after the word "Secretary," the words "or Reading Clerk ;"

Determined in the affirmative.

Mr. Henkle submitted the following amendment to rule
forty-one :

Add, "by or with the consent of the Senate ;"
Determined in the affirmative.
The forty-first rule as amended was then adopted.
The forty-second rule was then read and adopted.
The forty-third rule was then read and adopted.
The forty-fourth rule was then read and adopted.
The forty-fifth rule was then read and adopted.

Mr. Bowie submitted the following amendment to the for-
ty-sixth rule :

"A Committee on Labor and Immigration to consist of five
Senators.;"

Determined in the affirmative.
The forty-sixth rule was then read and adopted.
The forty-seventh rule was then read and adopted.
The forty-eighth rule was then read and adopted.
The forty-ninth rule was then read and adopted.
The fiftieth rule was then read and adopted.
