Also, the memorial of David Anderson, J. H. Cai rey, Jno.
Digness, Alexander T. Johnson William Lee and two hun-
dred and fifty others, in favor of the modification of the Sun-
day Law;

Also, the memorial of C. L. Sdrutz, J. G. Umbach, John
S. Jones, Daniel Cook and four hundred others, in favor of
the modification of the present Sunday Law;

Also, the memorial of S. Magruder, Charles Goering, A.
T. McCullougb, B. Z. Hubbell and three hundred others, in
favor of the modification of the Sunday Law;

Which were read and referred to the Select Committee on
Sunday Law.

Mr. Gorsuch presented the petition of ninety citizens of
Frederick county, asking for the establishment of an asylum
for the education of the deaf and dumb;

Which was read and referred to the Select Committee on
that subject.

Also, the memorial of Edward Mclntire and thirty other
citizens of Frederick county, asking the repeal of the proviso
to section 4 of Article 81, Code of Public General Laws, and
to exempt literary and charitable institutions from taxation;

Which was read and referred to the Committee on Ways
and Means.

Mr. Devecmon presented the memorial of three hundred
citizens of Cumberland, praying a repeal of the present Sun-
day Law;

Which was read and referred to the Select Committee on
Sunday Law.

Mr. Knott presented the memorial of the President and
Managers of the Baltimore and Frederick Town Turnpike
Road Company, asking a repeal of the law passed at the pre-
sent session, to allow carriages attending funerals to pass on
its road without paying tolls;

Which was read and referred to the Committtee on the
Judiciary.

On motion of Mr. Davis, of Charles,

The petition presented by him on yesterday relating to
fisheries on the Potomac river,

Was referred to Charles, St. Mary's and Prince George's
county delegation.

On motion of Mr. Steiner,
Ordered, That the Printer of this House furnish without
