502 JOURNAL OF PROCEEDINGS [Feb. 21,

titled, an Act to appropriate $15,000 to the House of Refuge,
in the city of Baltimore, to aid in meeting the current ex-
penses and the further sum of $10,000 to be applied to the
erection of a wing to their present building;

Which was read a second time.

Also, favorably a bill entitled, an Act to repeal section 2 of
Article 56 of the Code of Public General Laws, title "Li-
censes," and to re-enact the same with amendments;

Mr. Hammond from the Committee on the Judiciary, re-
ported favorably a bill entitled, an Act to add an additional
section to Article 45 of the Code of Public General Laws, re-
lating to husband and wife and to define the rights and lia-
bilities of married women as tenant for term of years;

Which were severally read a first time.

Also, unfavorably upon the Senate bill entitled, an Act to
assist the President and Managers of the Maryland Disabled
Soldiers Home, to procure a building suitable to ap enlarged
exercise of their charitable purposes.

Mr. Carmichael, Chairman Committee on the Judiciary,
reported favorably without amendment the Senate bill enti-
tled, an Act to repeal section 34 of Article 30 of the Code of
Public General Laws, title "crimes and punishments," sub-
title "counterfeiting and forgeries," and relating to inspected
and un-inspected tobacco, and to re-enact the same with an
amendment.

Also, the Senate bill entitled, an Act to repeal section 92
of Article 30 of the Code of Public General Laws, title
"crimes and punishments," sub-title "kidnapping."

Also, the Senate bill entitled; an Act to repeal section 99
of Article 30 of the Code of Public General Laws, title
"crimes and pnnishments," sub-title "larcenies," and to re-
enact the same with an amendment.

Also, Senate bill entitled, an Act to repeal section 152 of
the 30th Article of the Code of Public General Laws, title
"crimes and punishments," sub-title "fornication with ne-
groes," and to re-enact the same with amendments.

Also, the Senate bill entitled, an Act to repeal the 90th
section of the 24th Article of the Code of Public General
Laws, title "conveyancing," and to re-enact the same with
an amendment.

Also, the Senate bill entitled, an Act to repeal an Act,
passed at January session, 1864, chapter 105, entitled, an
Act to repeal sections 42 and 43, of Article 66 of the Code
of Public General Laws, relating to "manumission," and to
enact a substitute therefor, providing for the manumission of
