500 JOURNAL OF PROCEEDINGS [Feb. 21,

Resolved by the General Assembly of Maryland, That the
Comptroller be directed to pay to the order of the President of
the Trustees of the State Agricultural College, on the first
day of April, 1867, the remaining instalments being an
amount of $30,000 of the sum appropriated by Act of Assem-
bly, chapter 53, 1866, for .the purchase of an equal joint in-
terest in the property of said Agricultural College;

Which was read a first time.

The Speaker laid bofore the House ;

ANNAPOLIS, February 20th, 1867.

Speaker of the House of Delegates of Maryland :

SIR:—I am requested by the Annapolis Gas Light Com-
pany, to furnish you with the information, which au order of
the House of Delegates of the 18th inst. requires.

Secretary of the Annapolis Gas Light Company.

On the 21 st day Of February, eighteen hundred and sixty-
seven, before me, the subscriber, a Justice of the Peace of the
State of Maryland, in and for Anne Arundel county, person-
ally appears J. Wesley White, Secretary of the Annapolis
Gas Light Company, and makes oath, that it appears from
the books of the said company, the amount of dividends de-
clared and paid by said company for the last five years to its
stockholders, and also, all other profits or emoluments paid by
said company to its stockholders within the above mentioned
time has been ten per cent, per annum, and also that in
March last, the company made a dividend in stock of twenty-
five per cent, on its capital.

Mr. Nicolai, Chairman Committee on Corporations, re-
ported favorably a bill entitled, an Act to incorporate the
Live Stock and Fire Insurance Company, of Maryland.

Also, a bill entitled, a supplement to an Act entitled, an
Act to incorporate the New Windsor Company in Carroll,
county.

Mr. Boswell from Committee on Corporations, reported fa-
vorably a bill entitled an Act to incorporate the House of the
Good Sheppard in the city of Baltimore.

Also, the bill entitled, an Act to amend the charter of the
Baltimore Chrome, Mining and Manufacturing Company,
