WEDNESDAY, Feb. 20, 4 1/2 o'clock, P. M.

The House met.

Present at the call of the roll the following members :

Messrs. Miller, Spk'r, Morgan, Welch, Clarke, Cameron,
Ford, Shipley, Nicolai, Davis, of Charles, Thomas, Jump,
Jones, Kerr, Whitaker, Calvert, Rouzer, Baker, Linthicum,
Gorsuch, Steiner, Bamford, Tobey, Hoffhine, Bishop, Burche,
Turner, Coleman, Neilson, Robson, Israel, Knott, Steveus,
Kraft, Boswell, Davis, of Bait, city, Bixler, Pitts, Aydelott,
Gordy, Whiteford, Wilson, Spicer, Bruce, McCulloh, McCul-
ley, Brydon, Carmichael, Neale, Wampler, Dawson, Ham-
mond.

Mr. Bamford, from Select Committee, reported favorably a
bill entitled, an Act to repeal section 291J of Article 21 of the
Code of Public Local Laws entitled, Washington county,
and to re-enact the same with amendments.

Mr. Bishop, from Select Committee, reported favorably a
bill entitled, an Act to incorporate the Boonsboro' Cemetery
Association.

Mr. Tpobey, from Select Committee, reported favorably a
bill entitled, an Act to incorporate Redemption Lodge No 1,
of the Independent Order of Good Templars of Keedysville,
Washington county, Maryland,

Which were severally read a first time.

On motion of Mr. Bixler,
The rules bejing suspended,

Ordered, That the Committee on Education have leave to

sit this afternoon during the session of the House.

The House took up for consideration the joint resolutions
relative to payment pf bounty to persons residing out of the
State.

Mr. Davis, of Baltimore city, proposed the following
amendment :j

After the word "therefrom," insert "nor any officer or offi-
cers of the Freedmen's Bureau."
Pending the consideration of which,

On motion of Mr. Knott,
The resolutions were postponed informally.
On potion of Mr. Clarke,

The rules being suspended, -
