The bill entitled, an Act to authorise the payment of
bounty to Wm. Wecker, or his order,

Was taken up for consideration;
Pending which,

On motion of Mr. Olarke,

Said bill was recommitted to the Committee on Claims,

On motion Mr. Hammond,
The rules being suspended,

The House took up for consideration the bill entitled, an
Act to incorporate a company to make a turnpike road from
Ellicott's Mills to Elysville, in Howard county,

Said bill being upon its second reading;

Pending which,

Mr. Hammond proposed the following amendment:

Page 3, line 4, after the word "use," insert "if deemed by
them expedient;"

Which was adopted.

Also, the following amendment:

Page 3, line 5, insert after the word "therefrom," the
words "in whole or in part;"

Which was adopted. .
Mr. Hammond proposed the following amendment i

Sec. 14. And be it enacted, That the said company Me au-
thorized to connect its road with the Baltimore and Frederick
Town Turnpike road, at any point between the tenth mile
stone and the first toll gate west of Ellicott's city, on said
last mentioned road;

Which was adopted.

Mr. Hammond proposed the following :

Strike*out the word "Mills" wherever it occurs, and insert
"City;"

Which was adopted.

The bill as amended was then read a second time andl or-
dered to be engrossed for a third reading.

On motion of Mr. Isreal,
The rules being suspended,

The House took up for consideration the bill entittejf, an
Act to authorize the bequest of Catherine Seip, late of Balti-
more city, to the Second German Evangelical Lutheran
Church of Baltimore city;
