Alexander Evans is absent from his seat on account of
sickness.
Mr. Neale offering the following :
Ordered, That when the engagements already existing
shall have been fulfilled, the use of this Hall shall not, during
the remainder of the present session of the General Assembly,
again be granted to outside parties, but shall be reserved for
the legitimate use of this Body ;
Mr. King moved to lay the order on the table ;

On motion of Mr. McCulloh,
Leave was granted the Committee on Claims to introduce
a bill to compensate E. M. Friend and C. W. Shearer for ser-
vices rendered the State;
Also, leave was granted Allegany County delegation to
report a bill to repeal sections 73, 77, 82, 90, 91 and 92 of
the Act of 1866, chapter 47, relating to the town of Frost-
burg, in Allegany county, and re-enact the same with amend-
ments, and also to add an additional section thereto ;
Also, leave was granted Allegany County delegation to
report a bill to authorize the Mayor and Councilmen of the
city of Cumberland to establish and enforce an inspection
and measurement of gas and gasometers in the city of Cum-
berland ;
Also, leave was granted the Committee on Corporations to
report a bill to incorporate the Continental Coal and Iron
Company.
On motion of Mr. Clarke,
Leave was granted the Committee on Corporations to report
a bill to incorporate the Frederick Pennsylvania Line Rail-
road Company ;
Also, leave was granted the Committee on the Judiciary
to introduce a bill to regulate the carriage of baggage by
railroad companies, and to prescribe the duties and obliga-
tions of carriers and passengers in relation thereto.
On motion of Mr. Bamford,
Leave was granted Washington County delegation to report
a bill amending section 291, Article 21, of the Public Local
Laws of Maryland, so as to give to the Burgess and Assist-
|
