in droves;

Which was read a first time and referred to the Kent and
Queen Anne's delegations.

Also, a bill entitled, an Act to amend the 15th article of
the Code of Public Local Laws, entitled, Montgomery county,
relating to the powers of the commissioners of the town of
Rockville;

Which was read a first time and referred to the Montgam-
gomery and Calvert delegations.

Also, a bill entitled, an Act to add a new section to Arti-
cle 8 of the Code of Public Local Laws, relating to the powers
of the President and Commissioners of the village of Port
Deposit;

Which was read a first time and referred to the Cecil dele-
gation.

Also, returned the bill entitled, an Act to incorporate the
Slaughters Steamboat Company;

"Endorsed, passed by yeas and nays."

Mr. Bishop, the rules being suspended, reported favorably
from a Select Committee a bill entitled, an Act to incorpo-
rate the Hagerstown Water Company;

Which was read a first time.

Also, presented the remonstrance of forty citizens of the
town of Hancock, Washington county., against additional
taxation for school purposes;

Which was read and referred to the Committee on Educa-
tion.

The hour having arrived for taking up the order of the
day;

Being the bill entitled, an Act to create a Board of Com-
missioners to keep open the harbor of Baltimore and the ac-
cess thereto from obstruction by ice, and for harbor and river
relief; which,

On motion of Mr. Thomas,
Was postponed until Tuesday, 19th February.

The House then took up for consideration the second order
of the day,

Being the bill entitled, an Act to provide for the running
of the Baltimore City Passenger Railway cars on Sunday,
supplementary to an Act to incorporate the Baltimore City
Passenger Railway Company, passed February 13th, 1862,
chapter 71.
