Which was read and referred to the Queen Anne's and
Kent county delegations.

On motion of Mr. McCulloh,

Leave was granted the Committee on Claims to report a
bill entitled, an Act to pay to David Plummer, of Allegany
county, three hundred dollars bounty;

Also, leave was granted the Committee on Corporations to
report a bill to incorporate the Mountain Spring Lodge, No.
12, of the Independent Order of Good Templars ;

Also, leave was granted the Committee on Corporations to
report a bill to incorporate the Ashley Coal Iron and Lumber
Company ;

On motion of Mr. Devecmon,

Leave was granted the Committee on Corporations to report
a bill entitled, an Act to incorporate the Midlothian Coal and
Iron Company ;

Also, leave was granted the Committee on Claims to report
a bill entitled, an to refund William Walsh a sum of money
overpaid into the Treasury of the State, as per certificate of
the Comptroller.

Also, leave was granted the Committee ou the Judiciary
to report a bill entitled, an Act to ratify the proceedings of
the County Commissioners of Allegany county directing Wil-
liam Walsh, trustee of John Callan, late collector, deceased,
to sell land for delinquent taxes due thereon.

On motion of Mr. Neilson,

Leave was granted Select Committee on Penitentiary to
report a bill entitled, an Act to appropriate a sum of money
to build a new penitentiary.

Mr. Davis, of Baltimore city, submitted the following:
JOINT RESOLUTIONS:

Resolved by the General Assembly of Maryland, That we do
approve the course of his Excellency Andrew Johnson, Pres-
ident of the United States, and particularly in relation to the
reconstruction of those States lately in rebellion ;

Resolved, That his plan, or Policy of Reconstruction is in
harmony with the constitution, and will be sustained by the
whole people as he is now supported by the patriotic citizens
of the Commonwealth of Maryland ;

Resolved, That we will sustain the President in his patri-
otic efforts to bring about a cordial and brotherly union of
the whole people, without regard to section ;
