Ordered, That Wm. R. McCulley be granted leave of ab-
sence for a few days to visit his family.

On motion of Mr. Jones,

Ordered, That Samuel K. Dennis and John Brittingham,
be each allowed the sum of forty-five dollars for their ex-
penses and attendance from Worcester county, Maryland, be-
fore the Special Committee on the boundary line on the East-
ern Shore of Maryland and Virginia, as witnesses summoned
before said committee under the order of the House of Dele-
gates, and that the chairman of the Committee on Claims,
issue a certificate for the said sum to the said witnesses re-
spectively.

On motion of Mr. Spicer,

Ordered, That Mr. Nelson be granted leave of absence for
a few days to enable him to visit his home on important busi-
ness.

On motion of Mr. Kerr,

Ordered, That Mr. Horsey, of Caroline county, have leave
of absence from this date to attend to important business.

On motion of Mr. Gore,

Ordered, That Mr. Benton be granted leave of absence un-
til Wednesday next, to visit his home on important business.

On motion of Mr. Bishop,

Ordered, That the Committee on Education, inquired into
the, nature and extent of the State's claim in and to the
buildings and grounds of the Hagerstown Academy.

On motion of Mr. Coleman,

Ordered, That it be entered on the Journal that the ab-
sence of John L. Smith from his seat in this house since
Monday last, was caused by sickness.

On motion of Mr. Clarke,

Ordered, That the Commissioner of Baltimore county, be
requested to inform this House why the claim of the Union
Bank of Maryland, has not been paid for monies advanced
for school purposes in the 1st Election District in Baltimore
county in 1832.

On motion of Mr. Magruder,

Ordered, That the Comptroller of the Treasury inform
this House what amount of money the State of Maryland
owes to the Tobacco Fund, and that he be requested to report
at once.
