HON. OLIVER MILLER,

Speaker of the House of Delegates :

SIR:—An order adopted on the 12th instant, directed to
the Executive, requesting him to communicate to the House
the rate of State and county levy in each of the counties of
this State, from the year 1850 to the present time; distin-
guishing the county rates from the State rate; and specifying
the amount for each year, has been referred to me, to which
I respectfully reply, that in most cases the County Commis-
sioners only return the assessable property of each county
with the State levy thereon. It will therefore be out of my
power to give you the desired information as regards county
levy.

On motion of Mr. Hammond,

Ordered, That it be entered upon the Journal of the House
that Thomas I. Hall, a delegate from Anne Arundel county,
have leave of absence for a few days to visit his family and to
attend to business requiring his attention.

On motion of Mr. Tobey,

Ordered, That Mr. Appleman have leave of absence for a

few days to attend to important business.


On motion of Mr. Baker,

Ordered, That Mr. Buhrman have leave of absence for a
few days.
