rations.

Also, a petition of John R. Purnell, John E. H. Marshall
and other citizens of Worcester county, praying that the
license to sell spirituous liquors in quantities less than a pint
be limited to those who take out ordinary license;

Which was road, and

On motion of Mr. Aydelott,

Was referred together with similar petitions from that
county, previously presented, to the Committee on Ways and
Means;

Mr. Nicolia presented a memorial to the Genneral Assem-
bly of Maryland, from the Managers of the House of the Good
Shepherd, asking an Act of incorporation;

Which was read and referred to the Committee on Corpor-
ations;

Also, a petition of the citizens of Baltimore in favor of the
running of the City Passenger Railway Cars on Sunday;

Which was read and referred to Select Committe on Sun-
day Law.

Mr. Linthicum presented a petition of citizens of Frederick
city, asking the repeal of that part of the proviso to section
4, Article 81, of. Code of Public General Laws, which limits
to fifteen thousand dollars, the value of property owned by
several Literary and Charitable Institutions of the State, which
shall be exempted from taxation;

Which was read and referred to Committee on Ways and
Means.

Mr. Jump presented a petition of A. P. Jump and 36 other
citizens of Talbot county, to extend the power of the Bailiff
of the town of Easton, and to authorise him to serve criminal
process beyond the limits of said town;

Which was read and referred to Talbot and Queen Anne's
County Delegations.

Mr. Welch presented a petition of 62 citizens of Kent coun-
ty, praying a repeal of the Act requiring Inn-keepers to close
their bars on the day of Election;

Which was read and referred to the Committee on Elec-
tion.

The Speaker laid before the House, the statement of John
F. Plummer, Register of Baltimore city;

Which was read
