Mr. Neilson presented the remonstrance of citizens of
Washington county, against the passage of the bill prohibit-
ing the sale of liquor in District No. 1;

Which was read and referred to the Washington county
Delegation.

Also, the petition of the citizens of Baltimore in favor of
the City Passenger Cars running on Sunday;

Which was read and referred to the Select Committee on
Sunday Law.

Mr. Knott presented the memorial of Wm. J. Albert, Wm.
Kennedy, Benj. Deford, Henry Tyson, Chauncy Brooks,
Kirkland, Chase & Co., Richard Fisher, John E. Proud,
Isaac McKim, Gushing & Bailey, Woodward & Baldwin and
150 other business firms and citzens of Baltimore, praying
for a repeal of the proviso to section 4 of article 81 of the
Code of Public General Laws, limiting the exemption of tax-
ation on the property of incorporated literary and charitable
institutions of the State.

Which was read and referred to the Committee on Ways
and Means.

Also, the memorial of John R. Dischrnan and two hundred
other citizens of Baltimore, in favor of a modification of the
existing Sunday Law;

Mr. Hooper presented the petition of Joseph O'Keefe and
one hundred other citizens of the 8th ward, of Baltimore city,
in favor of a modification and change in the existing Sunday
Law;

Mr. Israel presented the petition of 350 citizens of Balti-
more in favor of the City Passenger Railway Cars running
on Sunday;

Also, presented the remonstrance of Win. K. Boyle and
324 others, against the running of cars, or other desecration
of the Christian Sabbath;
