Which was read a first time and referred to the Committee
on Ways and Means.

On motion of Mr. Jones.
The rules being suspended,

Mr. Dennis was granted leave of absence from Saturday
until Tuesday next.

Mr. Thomas, Chairman of the Committee on Ways and
Means, reported favorably a bill entitled, an Act to create a
Board of Commissioners to keep open the harbor of Balti-
more and the access thereto from obstruction by ice, and for
harbor and river relief;

Which was read a first time and made the order of the day
for Monday, 18th instant.

Mr. Boswell, from the Committee on Corporations, reported
favorably a bill entitled, an Act to incorporate Solomon's Lodge
No. 121, of Ancient Free and Accepted Masons.

Also, a bill entitled, an Act to amend an Act entitled an
Act to incorporate the Franklin Turnpike Road Company,
passed March 10th, 1828, chapter 186, by providing for an
increase of tolls on said road.

Also, a bill entitled, an Act to incorporate the Frederick
Library Association of Frederick City.

Also, a bill entitled, a supplement to an Act passed at
January session, 1852, entitled, an Act to incorporate the
Santa Clara Mining Association of Baltimore, authorizing
said Association to make and enforce payment of calls or
assessments upon its capital stock.

Mr. Clarke, Chairman of Committee on Claims, reported
favorably a bill entitled, an Act appropriating a sum of money
to pay the claims of W. K. Boyle, Frederick Raine, William
Wales, Charles Cole, Charles Smith, W. H. Kirby, M. Fields,
John W. Wright, Keefer, Smith & Co., Black, Ebert & Co.,
Mrs. Rhinehart, J. B. Mansfield, B. E. Smith, Longnecker
& Courner, Knorr & Bro , W. H. Sowdermilk, Colton &
Riley,, Thomas J. Turner, W. E. Weber, E. E. Ewing,
Sheppard & Lynch, E. Wells, Plummer & Uselton, E. F.
Perkina, W. Boulden, J. G. Taylor, A. W. Bateman, J, W.
Ebert & Co., W. H. Hutchins, J. S. Roderick, H. W.
Straughn, E. S. Kerr, James B. Steele, W. W. Busteed, G.
