On motion of Mr. Boswell,
Was laid on the table.
On motion of Mr. Thomas,

Ordered, That the Comptroller of the Treasury, report to
this House, at as early a day as practicable, whether the sum
of $459,368.50, stated in his Annual Report, to have been
paid into the Treasury during the fiscal year, ending on the
30th September, 1866, by the Baltimore and Ohio Railroad
Company, for one-fifth of the receipts from passengers on the
Washington Branch Road, accrued for the said fiscal year,
and if not, what proportion of said sum accrued for said year
and what proportion thereof accrued for other and former
ysars, designating the amount thereof which actually ac-
crued for each of said years and the year for which the same
accrued.

On motion of Mr. Calvert,

Ordered, That the printer be required to furnish immedi-
ately, each member of this House with a copy of the report
of the Superintendent of Public Instruction.

The hour having arrived for taking up the first Order of
the Day, being the Majority and Minority reports of the
Committee on Elections on the right of the Sitting Members
from Allegany, to a seat in this House.

On motion of Mr. Boswell,
The consideration thereof was postponed until 2 o'clock.

The second Order of the Day was then taken up for con-
sideration, being the Registration bill, when,

On motion of Mr. Boswell,
It was postponed for ten minutes.
On motion of Mr. Boswell,

The rules being suspended, for the purpose of making re-
ports from Standing Committees.

Mr. Boswell from the Committee on Corporations reported
favorably an Act to incorporate a company to make a turn-
pike road from Ellicott's Mills to Elysville in Howard county.

Also, a bill entitled, an Act to incorporate the President
and Directors of the Empire Mutual Insurance Company of
Baltimore, Maryland.

Mr. Clarke, Chairman of Committee on Claims, reported
favorably a bill entitled, an Act to compensate Job Haines
