On motion of Mr. Nelson,
Was referred to the Committee on Internal Improvements.

Mr. Dennis from Select Committee reported favorably with
proposed amendment the bill entitled, an Act to add a new
Article to the Code of Public General Laws, to be entitled,
Public Roads;

Said bill being upon its second reading.
AMENDMENT PROPOSED.

In section 2nd, 3rd line after the word "labor," strike out
two and insert "not less than four;"

Which was adopted.

Mr. Dennis proposed the following amendment:

In section 9, insert Prince George's county;

Which was adopted.

Mr. Calvert proposed the following amendment:

And be it enacted that this Act shall take effect from and
after the day of its passage;

Which was adopted.

The bill as amended was then read a second time, and or-
dered to be engrossed for a third reading.

Mr. McCulley from Select Committee reported favorably a
bill entitled, an Act to incorporate the Mutual Life Insurance
Company of Allegany county;

Which was read a first time,

On motion of Mr. Thomas,
The rules being suspended,

Leave was granted the Committee on the Judiciary to re-
port a bill entitled, an Act to repeal the 10th section of the
11th article of the Code of Public General Laws, and to pre-
scribe in lieu thereof, an oath for Attorney at Law.

On motion of Mr. Phelps,
The rules being considered yet further suspended,

Ordered, That it be entered on the Journal, that Messrs.
Kerr, Smith, Waltemeyer and Flaherty, are detained from
their seats in the House by sickness.

On motion of Mr. Jones,
The rules being considered as further suspended,

Leave was granted the Committee on the Judiciary to re-
port a bill entitled, an act to repeal section 87, relating to
insurrection in this State, of article 30, entitled, Crimes and
Punishments, and to amend and re-enact the same.
