of the Code of Public General Laws entitled, County Com-
missioners, relating to the repairs of bridges.

Also, leave was granted the Committee on Corporations to
report a bill to incorporate the Empire Mutual Insurance
Company of Baltimore city.
On motion of Mr. Calvert,

Leave was granted the Prince George's and Calvert dele-
gations to introduce a bill authorizing the County Commis-
sionersof Prince George's to sell the present Alms House,
and to buy or build another, and also empowering them to
levy a tax therefor.

Also leave was granted the Committee on Judiciary to in-
troduce a bill to repeal sections 268 and 271, Article 93, of
the Code of General Laws, and re-enact the same with amend-

ments

Also, leave was granted the Committee on the Judiciary to
introduce a bill to repeal sections 10 and 13, Article 18, of
the Code of General Laws, and re-enact the same with amend-
ments.

On motion of Mr. Wampler,

Leave was granted the Committee on Corporations to re-
port a bill entitled a supplement to an Act entitled, an Act
to incorporate the Western Maryland Railroad Company.

Also leave was granted the Carroll county delegation to
report a bill entitled an Act to empower the County Com-

missioners of Carroll county to subscribe on behalgf of said

county, to thie captital stock of the Western Maryland Rail-

road Company, or to endorse its second mortgage bonds to an
amount not exceeding $100,000.
On motion of Mr. Williams,

Leave was granted the Committee on Corporations to in-
troduce a bill to amend the Act,of 1866, incorporating the
Plum Point Wharf Company of Calvert county.

On motion of Mr. Smith, (the rules being suspended,)

Ordered, That it be entered on the Journal that John D.
Thompson be excused for absence from his Seat on Saturday,
the same being caused by important business requiring his
attention.

Mr Nicolai, chairman of the Committee on Corporations,
reported favorably, a bill entitled, an Act to incorporate the
Monumental Fire Insurance Company, of Baltimore;

Which was read the first time.

Mr McCulley, from the Select Committee, reported favorably
a bill entitled, an Act to repeal the 107th section, of Article 1, of
