Which was read.

Mr. Kraft moved to print the petition for the use of the
House.

Mr. Nelson proposed to amend by printing all the peti-
tions upon that subject.

On motion of Mr. Knott,
The motion to print was laid upon the table.

The petition was then referred to the Select Committee on
Sunday Law.

Mr. Turner offered the following :

Ordered, That from and after this date the House of Dele-
gates take a recess at three (3) o'clock until 7 1/2 o'clock, and so
continue until otherwise ordered; which,

On motion of Mr. Linthicum,
Was laid on the table.

On motion of Mr. Neilson,

Ordered, That the Chief Clerk of the House purchase a
new flag, to be suspended on the Dome.

On motion of Mr. Turner,

Ordered, That it be placed on the Journal that Mr. Lank-
ford was absent from the House on Saturday last in conse-
quence of sickness.

On motion of Mr. Bixler,

Ordered, That it be entered on the Journal of the House
that Mr. Waltemeyer, of Baltimore city, is absent on account
of sickness in his family.

On motion of Mr. McCulley,

Ordered, That it be entered on the Journal of this House,
that Mr. Haller, of Allegany county, is detained from his
seat in consequence of sickness in his family.

On motion of Mr. Nicolai,

Ordered, That the Committee on Corporations may have
printed such bills reported from their committee as they may
deem proper, without any special order to print.

On motion of Mr. Thompson,

Ordered, That it be placed on the Journal of this House,
that Mr. Smith, of Baltimore city, was absent on Saturday
on account of sickness in his family.

On motion of Mr. Nicolai,

Leave was granted to the Committee on the Judiciary to
report a bill to add an additional section to the 28th Article
