340 JOURNAL OF PROCEEDINGS Feb. 11,

of the Methodist Episcopal Church, of Queen Anne's county,
desiring legislation to enable the members of said church in
said county, to control their church property ;

Which were severally read and referred to Committee on
Judiciary.

Mr. Nelson presented a petition of Elisha Swomby and
other citizens of Frederick county, as to the freight charges
on the Baltimore and Ohio Railroad;

Which was read and referred to the Committee on Agricul-
ture.

The Speaker laid before the House the response of Jno. W.
Garrett, Esq., President of the Baltimore and Ohio Railroad,
Co., to an order of the House, passed January 23d 1867 ;

Which was read and referred to the Committee on Ways
and Means.

Also, in response to an order of the House, passed January
31st, 1867 ;

Which was read and referred to Committee on Internal
Improvements, and ordered to be printed.

Mr. Thomas presented a petition of the Guardian Life In-
surance Company, of New York, praying the repayment of
money paid by them in excess for license;

Which was read and referred to the Committee on Ways
and Means.

On motion of Mr. Bixler,

The bill entitled, an Act to repeal sections 398, 399, 400
401, 402, 403, 404, 405, 406, 407, 408, 409, of the Code of
Public Local Laws entitled, Guano;

Which had been re-considered, was referred to the Commit-
tee on Agriculture.

Mr. Boswell presented a petition of J. J. Turner & Co., El-
licott and Blackburn, Hall, Myers & Thomas, P. Zell & Sons,
Robert Turner & Son, John Merryman & Co., and others,
dearers in guano, against the repeal of the inspection law;

Also, a petition of Dr. Charles H. Bradford and others,
against the repeal of the guano inspection laws;

Which were severally read and referred to the Committee
on Agriculture.

Mr. Neilson presented a memorial of working men in fa-
vor of the modification of the Sunday Law and the running
of the City Passenger Railway cars on Sunday;
