On motion of Mr. Parsons,

Leave was granted the Committee on the Judiciary to in-
troduce a bill to repeal section 43 of Public General Laws
entitled, Mechanics Lien, and re-enact the same with amend-
ments.

On motion of Mr. King,

Leave was granted the Howard and Anne Arundel county
delegations to introduce a hill to release a certain claim of
the State against Charles G. Haslap, late Sheriff of Howard
county.

On Motion of Mr. Knott,

Leave was granted the Committee on Corporations to in-
corporate the Franklin Fire Insurance Company of Balti-
more city.

On motion of Mr. Flaherty,

Leave was granted the Committee on the Judiciary, to in-
troduce a bill establishing eight hours a legal days work for
all mechanics in this State.

On motion of Mr. Carmichael,

Leave was granted the Committee on Judiciary, to report
a bill to add new sections to Article 30 of the Code of Public
General Laws, in relation to embezzlements and frauds;

Mr. Nicolai, Chairman of the Committee on Corporations,
reported favorably a bill; entitled, an Act to incorporate the
Chesapeake and Lake Erie Railway Company;

Which was read a first time,

And ordered to be printed and recommitted to the Com-
mittee on Corporations.

Also, a bill entitled, an Act to amend an Act entitled, an
Act to Incorporate the Safe Deposit Company, of Baltimore;

Also, a bill entitled, an Act to remodel the Charter of the
Union Orphans Assylum of Baltimore city;

Also, a bill entitled, an Act to incorporate the Oblate Sis-
ters of Providence of the city of Baltimore;

Also, a bill entitled, an Act supplement to an Act entitled,
an Act to incorporate the Spruce Hill Coal Company, passed
January Session 1865, chapter 77,

Also, a bill entitled, an Act to incorporate Mount Moriah
Lodge No. 116, Ancient Free and Accepted Masons;

Also, a bill entitled, an Act to incorporate the Beneficial
Society of the Laboring Sons of Frederick city;

Which were severally read a first time.

Also, reported favorably without amendments, the Senate
